SPECIMEN PROCESSING and HANDLING

Allow blood to fully clot (about 1/2 hour) at room temperature (20-25° C).
Centrifuge in a refrigerated centrifuge and separate serum immediately. Specimens collected in serum separator tubes (SST®s) should be removed from the gel after centrifugation.
