SPECIMEN PROCESSING and HANDLING
Complete clot formation should take place before centrifugation. Serum or plasma should be physically separated from cells as soon as possible with a maximum limit of two hours from the time of collection.
TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE
Serum or plasma samples may be refrigerated at 2 – 8 °C for up to one week if not tested within 8 hours. For longer storage, samples may be frozen at -70 °C for up to three months.
