Test Code HGBA1C Hemoglobin A1c (Adv. HbA1c NGSP)

Important Note

HbA1c values of 5.7-6.4 % indicate an increased risk for developing diabetes mellitus. HbA1c values greater than or equal to 6.5 % are diagnostic of diabetes mellitus. Willis Knighton Laboratory has adopted the ADA's recommendation to use a new term in diabetes management, Estimated Average Glucose, or eAG. This will allow healthcare providers to report A1C results to patients using the same units (mg/dL) that patients see routinely in blood glucose measurements.
