Chromatin (Nucleosomal) Antibody - Chromatin Antibody plays a central role in the autoimmune response in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Approximately 90% of patients with SLE have sera that will exhibit reactivity to nucleosomes.

Methodology:  Immunoassay (IA)

 

Reference Range:  <1.0 AI Negative

 

Preferred Specimen:  1ml serum

 

Minimum Volume 0.5ml

 

Transport Container:  Transport tube

 

Specimen Stability/Transport Temperature:

Room temperature-4 days

Refrigerated-7 days

Frozen-30 days (preferred transport method)

 

Rejection Criteria:

Grossly hemolyzed, grossly lipemic, grossly icteric
