Specimen Requirements
Preferred Specimen:
1mL whole blood collected in a sodium fluoride or sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate (gray-top tube)
Alternative Specimen(s):
1mL plasma from gray-top tube; 1mL serum frozen from a red-top (no gel) tube
Minimum Volume:
0.5mL*
*This volume does not allow for repeat or reflex testing, and may be subject to loss of sample from possible pour-over of specimen at reference laboratory.
Reject: Serum separator tube (SST)
Setup Schedule: Daily; Report available within 3 days of receipt of specimen at Quest Diagnostics in VA.
